What are the advantages of Sogo compared to Ceramic floor
tile?
Sogo, a fully homogenous tile is far superior to ordinary
ceramic floor tiles. Ordinary ceramic floor tiles are porous
products and require to be glazed before use. Sogo on the
other hand is an unglazed product. It is made of single
compact body mass and is fully vitrified (water absorption
near zero). This makes it stronger and more durables.
The near-zero water absorption resulting from a high degree
of compaction imparts more strength and reduce the moisture
& thermal expansion, thus facilitating joint free applications.
The use of all pure-white raw materials ensures that there
are no contaminants or impurities, which may otherwise deteriorate
the product. The high firing temperature (1200°C) ensures
complete reaction between all raw materials to obtain a
high level of vitrification.

What steps are recommended at the time of purchasing SOGO?
First and foremost a small quantity of extra tiles must
be purchased over and above those specified by the contractor,
say at least a box more. This is to make up for shortfalls
that may arise eventually. It is likely that tiles belonging
to the same batch (and hence same shade) may not be available
at a later date. This may result in a compromise to use
tiles of a different batch or shade that may disturb the
overall homogeneity of the floor/wall. For the same reason,
it is important to check at the time of purchase, the batch
numbers and shade numbers on all the boxes for uniformity.

What is the life of the product?
The superior technical properties of SOGO, ensure that its
wear resistance and scratch hardness are significantly higher
than ordinary ceramic floor tiles or natural marbles. Depending
on usage of the polished surface the life of SOGO will be
much more than that of the best Italian marble or granite.

Is SOGO scratch proof?
The scratch resistance of SOGO is much higher than ordinary
ceramic floor tiles, cement mosaics and natural stones such
as Italian marble and granites.

Does the design seen on top of the tile remain forever or
will it displayed with use?
Is SOGO a fully homogenous tile?
The designs on the tile are printed with what are known
as soluble salts or penetrating pigments. As the name suggests
these salts penetrate to a depth of 2-3 mm below the surface
of the tile. Thus the design is present up to 25% of the
thickness of the tile. Being such a hard material, it is
virtually impossible to remove this amount of material to
make the design disappear.
All
SOGO Vitrified Tiles are fully homogenous vitrified and
they have uniform properties all through its body, which
guarantees they quality of the tile.

Thickness of SOGO is very less compared to marble slabs.
Is it weaker than marble?
Does it crack like marble after fixing?
No. SOGO is tough and long lasting because it is manufactured
using the finest white burning clay in the world, imported
specially from Ukraine. High quality minerals are mixed
with this clay to form a unique body composition. 4600 ton
presses compress and compact the powdered mass to form the
tile. The tile is then fired in a 142 m roller hearth kiln
at an ultra high temperature of 1200°c leading to high
degree of vitrification to make the product stronger. This
process makes SOGO harder than natural stones such as granite
and marble.
Its
lower thickness does in no way reduces its strength and
during normal use it will never crack like a marble.

How durable is SOGO Vitrified Tile? Can it be used for heavy
traffic areas?
This product is designed for heavy traffic areas. Its high
hardness and breaking strength compared to marble and other
ceramic flooring make it an ideal choice for high traffic
application. It is specially suited for high traffic areas
such as hotel lobbies and airports from the point of durability
and aesthetics.
If
maintained properly, that is, kept free of grit and sand,
it should last the lifetime of your home.

Can this be fixed on existing floor?
Yes, it can be fixed on the existing floor but by employing
synthetic adhesives.

Can it be fixed with minimum gap between the tiles?
SOGO is a pre-sized product with very low moisture and thermal
expansion. It may be used for a joint-free application.

Should expert advise be sought at the time of fixing the
tiles?
Yes, being a high value product and to get 100% satisfaction
it is of paramount importance that great care and skill
is employed while fixing the tiles. The company's service
engineers or sales personnel may be contacted for assisting
the contractor/mason for guidance on installation and for
post-laying maintenance tips.

How should SOGO floors be cleaned regularly?
All the tiles, of whatever kind (natural stone, marble,
granite and unglazed ceramics) have surface micro porosity.
The
excellent SOGO product has negligible micro porosity. In
the case of particularly delicate LIGHT SHADES or PLAIN
COLOURS in general, there may be some cleaning problems,
which could even be serious. We recommend: after laying,
clean the perfectly dry floor throughly and apply any commercially
cleaning agent available in the market. Follow the instructions
on the product meticulously for effective results.

How does one clean the tiles/maintain/get rid of stains?
On a regular basis you can sweep the floors to remove any
tracked in dirt and keep an anti-dust mat by the exterior
doors to minimize abrasive dirt, like grit and sand, being
brought in by people's shoes.
Other
than that, just use a neutral PH detergent or standard tile
care product to mop or sponge tiles as required.

Can a SOGO be used on the wall?
Yes, but for internal walls only. They are also suitable
for external walls and cladding but for these applications
special mechanical fixtures must be used for anchoring the
tile.

What are the manufacturing technologies used to create SOGO?
We use the best machineries and technologies to ensure that
SOGO is truly a high quality product suited to satisfy all
your expectations.
The
SOGO raw materials are mixed in continuous ball mills to
ensure consistency in the product, 4600 ton presses are
use for better compaction and the largest kilns used to
fire it.
We
use various technologies to design the tile. We have the
Soluble Salts Technology and the Advanced Power Feeding
technologies like roll-feed and multi-pipe with special
granulators for getting the granulated effect.
